Summary

MIMIr Andino is primarly designed to assist and encourage partner universities in South American (and specifically Andean) Countries to better understand the status quo of their research management approaches, from performance and evaluation to management structures and efficacy. The project will provide them with a Research Management Model that will help them to achieve their research and innovation objectives with respect to national and regional development. The Model will be needs specific and take into account European practices: existing research environments and activities will be mapped, as well as policy contexts and investments prior to developing the Model. Undergoing this endeavour in partnership with EU universities will help the South American partners identify areas for change, targets for improvement and a trajectory to excel. Accordingly, partner universities will learn about the organisation and management of innovation and research in European universities, understand their present models, principles, and standards. Knowledge transfer will also be internal amongst South American partners, who share common geographic, economic and scientific interests and are eager to deeper their regional cooperation and integration in higher education and research. The project will allow them to buy important infrastructure to help manage research and also provide a structured, monitored means to pilot some aspects of the Model
