Summary
SUSTURISM is a project aimed at strengthening the relationship between universities and the socio-economic fabric of Angola, Cape Verde, and Europe, within a new economic model that promotes sustainable and responsible tourism. The initiative focuses on fostering cooperation, environmental respect, and social responsibility, positioning universities as key players in training professionals and entrepreneurs committed to intelligent economic growth.
The project highlights the strategic role of universities in shaping future entrepreneurs with a regional focus, equipping them with the tools to drive sustainable tourism cooperation. By mobilizing recent graduates, SUSTURISM aims to develop a new tourism model that prioritizes environmental and cultural protection. This is achieved through inclusive education that incorporates gender perspectives and promotes locally adapted solutions involving local communities.
The project’s main objective is to ensure its long-term sustainability and replicability through targeted communication strategies, expanding partnerships with universities, businesses, and organizations, and increasing its visibility and impact, particularly in Cape Verde and Angola.
Specific goals include:
- Promoting awareness of the project and its outcomes to ensure wide usage by its target audience.
- Supporting education in responsible and sustainable tourism, aligned with European Commission priorities.
- Ensuring high-quality communication and branding for the project.
- Efficiently disseminating project activities and results to foster collaboration among stakeholders.
Through these efforts, SUSTURISM seeks to contribute to a sustainable tourism sector that benefits both local economies and ecosystems.
