Summary

The project supported the structural reform of the higher education system in Jordan, developed a qualifications framework for higher education in line with national priorities, and implemented it at different institutional levels. NQF-J provided a QF for higher education for implementation at the institutional level and set up the basis for a comprehensive NQF, establishing an NQF model that identified the generic expectations of all levels of higher educational programs, expressed as learning outcomes based on knowledge, skills, and competences. The standards of qualifications at each level were created and established through various activities involving stakeholders in higher education. The methodology for setting and assuring qualification standards was disseminated among academic institutions, government agencies responsible for QA and accreditation, and a wide spectrum of stakeholders. The project demonstrated the standards of Jordanian higher education awards and their national comparability, as well as their comparability with international norms and expectations, particularly against the Framework for Qualifications of the European Higher Education Area (FQ-EHEA) and the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), supporting mobility and employability.
